Principal's Message

De Pere Middle School prides itself on the academic, social and emotional growth of all students through our middle school concept.  Building relationships in our school community is of utmost importance.  Students meet weekly in homerooms of less than 15 students where they engage in social and emotional learning through the use of character development. Our school uses a positive behavioral intervention framework where all students are encouraged to follow The Redbird Way of Being Kind, Focused, and Responsible.

The academic expectations for our students are high.  Teachers collaborate to create a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all students.  Our multi-level systems of support play an important role in our student’s academic success. Professional learning communities meet 4 days a week to analyze data, develop common assessments, and determine students needing tiered interventions.

De Pere Middle School prides itself on exposing students to many opportunities in and outside of the school day.  Our exploratory options include performance music, art, digital literacy, technology education, family and consumer education, and world languages.

Students are able to complete high school coursework through our Spanish and health curriculum.  Opportunities beyond the school day include many student-initiated clubs including chess club, LEAD (Leadership Club), Hope Squad, archery, art club, theatre, tech deck club, video game club, and diversity club.  Athletics are offered for all 7th and 8th-grade students during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.  85% of our student population is involved in one or more of our extracurricular activities.

As a building of life-long learners, we are continually striving to meet the needs of students through the use of best practices in the classroom.  De Pere Middle School is and continues to be an excellent place to learn.
